The Montclair Public Library is hosting a wide range of programs in November.
First,?kids and adults are invited to vote for their favorite children?s picture or chapter?book during November. Fill out your ballot and place it in the election box at the?Youth Services Department of the Main Library. Your vote will be rewarded with a?bookmark. Results will be displayed on December.
Second, Books for Kids offers an opportunity for communities to provide NEW books to?children who may not have any of their own. Drop off a new children?s book in the??Books for Kids? box at the Library?s Youth Services Department between Thanksgiving?and the Holiday season and help warm a child?s winter.
Third, the library's?homeschooling network is growing! Meet other homeschooling families who visit?monthly from surrounding Essex and Passaic county cities to take advantage of this?popular resource. Youth Services Librarian Enola Romano displays the library?s?unique and rich collection of Homeschooling and Parenting books provided for your

Mexican Day of the Dead Workshop with Maria Nichim Luna?Maria Nichim Luna leads a flavorful mixture of song, craft and food honoring the?Mexican and Latin American day of celebration which brings families together to?honor those who have moved on from the world of the living. Enjoy a rich cultural?experience as families create a traditional ?Muertos? altar together. Songs and?"Calaveras" (poems) will be shared, sugar skulls decorated, "pan de Muerto" (Bread?of the Dead) and Mexican Hot chocolate enjoyed.?Educator Maria Nichim Luna was born and raised in Chiapas, Mexico, where she?participated in many celebrations at the local town cemetery with a community of?folks singing, decorating their beloved's tombs, sharing tamales and warm drinks.?Registration required.

Do you love playing games? They do at the library! In celebration of International Games?Day the Youth Services Department will host a gaming extravaganza! Enjoy an?assortment of games varying from classic board games, such as Monopoly to a?life-size game of Sorry! In honor of ?Games Day? we encourage everyone to engage?with members of their community in the spirit of fun and share their knowledge of
their favorite games. Kids, teens and adults of all ages are encouraged to attend!?No registration required,?Children?s Department,?all ages welcome,?Saturday, November 3 from to 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
